The Gathering Place Organic Rooibos Chai Tea
Rooibos Chai is a delicious and invigorating blend of
Rooibos tea and six traditional chai spices ginger, cinnamon, fennel, cardamom, cloves, and black pepper.

Chai means "spiced tea" and originates from India. Traditionally, Chai is made with black tea but when blended with Rooibos is caffeine free and can therefore be consumed all through the day and even before sleep. Chai is excellent for digestion, warming the body, and soothing the spirit.
The Gathering Place Chai is made with fresh, organic ingredients and hand blended in small batches on Cortes Island for consistency of flavour. Thank you to the many willing taste testers on Cortes who helped create this original and successful recipe!

How to Prepare
Rooibos Chai is best prepared by simmering the tea for 10 minutes in a pot of water on the stove. Use one tablespoon of Rooibos Chai per cup of water. Pour through a tea strainer and add milk and honey to taste. Rooibos Chai can be made in a teapot although the taste is superior if simmered. An added benefit to brewing on the stove is the delicious aroma filling your house!
The Source
The Chai spices used in the Rooibos Chai blend are carefully sourced from Southern India. We were lucky enough to find a not for profit Trust whose mandate is to recruit and train farmers in organic farming. This Trust also provides assistance to farmers in converting their conventionally cultivated farms to certified organic farms. The Trust also practices the concept of social justice, ensuring education facilities for the children of the farm workers, and teaching about hygienic living conditions of the farm workers. We are pleased to have a direct connection with these farmers.
